Campeonato Nacional de Parapente Santiago de Cuba 2012. A solo 72 horas de dar inicio!!!

Inline-Bild 1

The last weeks can best be compared with a 110-meter hurdles race. A race with the top of the world athlets, just because all that little and real big troubles the organiser had to go through.

But now everything is ready for in this Sunday, 1st April 2012, the day the National Paragliding Championship 2012 (CNP) opens the gates in the beautiful and hospitable city of Santiago de Cuba.

With 45 competitors pilots inscribed and confirmed, besides 10 guests, this championship is writing history, and the Free Flight Cuban Federation (FCVL), organisers and competitors pilots are dreaming with.

“We want this CNP to become the best Air Festival that have ever been held in Cuba”
Luis Garcia, FCVL President.

And we don’t doubt his words.

8 provinces will be represented in the CNP. The provinces with highest number of competitors are Granma with 13, La Habana with 8, and the local club with 9 pilots. Pinar del Rio and Ciego de Ávila will assist like guests.

Running through  a course of 35 turnpoints and 6 competitive races, we will proclaim a new champion of one club.  If weather conditions allows the pilot that with the best strategy and not necessarily the fastest racer will show his excellence. In the challenging conditions of  the flying area every pilot needs to use all wisdom if he wants to become the cuban champion of Free Flight this year.

We will use aerial snap shots to validate each turnpoint in this race.

Greetings to the Community.
