Guisa champions 2013 - Gleitschirm Kuba - Parapente Cuba
We are having good conditions for flights now, just a little strong wind.
Fantastic men, like never before the weather in Guisa was almost perfect, the 1st day everybody flew.
Every single pilot could start, some of them even 2 times.
The event in Guisa was a success, we flew all the days with a top ´til 1200mts high, and length about 15 kms in a straight way, that was the permission we got from authorities, but of course more distance and altitude would have been possible.
There were pilots from Santiago, Granma, Las Tunas, Ciego de Avila, besides the other people that support the activities like the Cuban Red Cross (rescue), the CAC and FCVL main men. The other clubs of the east... we suppose went to Sagua.
The goal on day one was the baseball field in Guisa, a race against clock, the best time was 7 minutes.
Rene Mario was also there and he flew two times, and experienced his first thermal after the accident.
The second day brought strong wind, but beside that like 50 % of the pilots took off and 7 pilots reached the goal in San José, a small school in the back part of
El Macho.
At the end of the day it was raining a little bit and after that the wind dissapeared for 30 minutes and some pilots decided to jump down with their paraglider.
Rene Mario was one of them, but in the very second he launched his glider, the wind started over again and he was flying backwards.
But lucky him, his glider decided to move forward little by little and he landed safe.
The 3rd day was the best day of all, the thermals went real nice and strong that and in one go 13 pilots where flying inside.
One of them in the upper part of Guisa, including Rene who made his first long jump to Guisa after the accident.
The goal that day was La Nenita in the road from Guisa to Bayamo, like 3 Km.
Only 3 pilots made it. Anybody else took the baseball field in Guisa entertaining the town with a nice show.
The last day was free to enjoy.

Will be 4 days , and below you will find the invitations. We have a special guest here in Cuba these days:
A couple of months ago, the small Malaguita completed his first record of Infinity with paramotor: 75turns. And now, aged 18, he attempted it again and came down with a solid record of 202 tumbles on the vertical of his wing. Sickening to see. But he says that now he will not stay still: "This will go on, and even with more passion", he says.
David credits much of the feat to his flying gear, a PXP paramotor that offered "great comfort" for acro maneuvers, and the Hipersonic glider that is perfect "for all maneuvers and in a special way for infinity with paramotor".

Hernan Pitocco, performed the first infinity with a paramotor on his back. Then, David Tejeiro was 16 years old and he was already into acro paragliding with his older brother Javi, "Malaguita".

For now has been confirm Las Tunas, Santiago, Holguin, and of course granma, we don´t know if Guantanamo will participate.
We will use a Photo system to proof that a single landmark was reached and hopefully the weather is with us.

Fwd: De Sagua
La 1ra Copa de Parapente Policarpo Álvarez Pileta in Memoriam fue desarrollada con éxito los pasados días 14.-18.8.2013 aunque hubiésemos querido que quedara aún mejor haré un breve recuento de lo acontecido.
Esta copa fue pensada para además de crear una competición para elevar el nivel de los pilotos fuera tambien un homenaje a este mártir de Sagua de Tánamo, quien perdió la vida en misión internacionalista como piloto de Helicóptero de Combate en África, específicamente en la Batalla de Cangamba. Inicialmente la Copa tenía como competidores a los pilotos de las provincias de la Región Oriental pero dado el caso que fuimos apoyados por el Instituto de Recreación y Deporte (INDER), por el Gobierno Municipal, el Club de Aviación de Cuba (CAC) y nuestra Federación Cubana de Vuelo Libre (FCVL) decidimos extenderla a todos los pilotos del país. Tuvimos la participación de 4 Provincias incluyendo la participación del municipio especial Isla de la Juventud. Conformándose 6 equipos: La Isla, Pinar del Rio, Las Tunas, Holguín, Sagua de Tánamo y Guantánamo.
Fueron días en que la Meteo no nos dejó hacer exhibiciones de Paracaidismo y competir como queríamos pero tuvimos la satisfacción de poder darle a nuestro pueblo un buen y gustado espectáculo con acrobacias de Javi "El Malaguita" Tejeiro López y tener como campeón en esta Copa a nuestros compañeros de Pinar del Rio, seguido de San Antonio del Sur en Guantánamo y por ultimo La Isla de la Juventud. Pasamos días donde las relaciones de amistad y hermandad entre nuestros compañeros se fomentaron y ampliaron y sé, por el ánimo que quedó en nuestros amigos nuestra próxima edición de esta Copa quedará mucho mejor, bueno eso es si San Eolo y la Meteo lo permite .
